More info

brass float with pin. very rare parts.critical.

manufactured OEM for Vire 12 hp engine, with the calibrated pin and lever hub you will need to set the correct fuel level (18mm below rim).

I have found on some faulty and traded-in engines, the float was corroded and had let in fuel. As a result, the float sinks lower before it cuts the fuel off, effectively raising the fuel level in the float chamber. when this happens, the engine runs too rich or floods, and so there will be inefficient consumption, fouling of spark plugs leading to stalling, and potentially leaking of fuel into theboat and a fire risk.

to test your float, immerse in water or petrol and check for bubbles coming out, or when removed shake it near your ear to see if you can hear/feel any fluid inside - there should be none.

you cannot repair it without changing its critical balanced weight, and because salt air will inevitably corrode the solder joints, it will eventually go. Im sure they were designed to last decades originally, however in a car not a salt air boat, so im finding in Vire 12 engines, it is best to check and replace if neccesary and have a spare ready.

This is the only batch i have left, so when they and the Vire matched pins are gone, thats it.

the matched pins eventually rust or seize so i supply a new calibrated one, thats included.

They were very hard to get and i had to wait months, so if you want to be safe, get one spare while they are offered here.

there are basically only 3 problems ever go wrong with the V12 carb ; the float fails, the pump diagram rubber perishes, the choke solenoid tip perishes.(see other items). you cannot make any of those parts and will stop the engine performing/running, so carry spares.
