if you have a long 7/8" shaft supported by a P-bracket extending from the hull, it will need a longer bearing than usual, because it slides into the P-bracket secured by a screw.
this makes it easier to renew the bearing, compared to the original shaft tube bearing that was PTFE epoxied inside the bronze shaft tube end
later shaft tubes had the bearing in a bolton carrier on the end of the tube however the bolts rotted quickly. hence the P-bracket was best solution and modern planing hull designs needed a shorter keel and lighter shaft, so this was the 'RACING' solution.
diameter 1.38" / 0.83"
please be aware the shaft needs a clearance in the bearing to allow water in to cool the bearing, so its always a loose fit (maybe 1-2mm clearance)
