PUMP SHAFT EXCHANGE Vire 6 (£100 refund)

if you are running in saltwater, and have not got this stainless pump shaft inside your VIRE (only available from Vire UK since 2009>), it will corrode and fail, this leads to pump water pushing past damaged seals and corrosion damage inside the gearbox, and inconvenience. So any reputable gearbox overhaul will always fit this.

the gears and shaft are used but in good working order

new stainless steel, turned, sheathed, welded waterproof, polished on the pump seal areas

you will receive the shaft assembly, complete with pinion gears, this is important because those pinions are hard to swap over, so you dont need to.

correct size for engine 6hp ONLY

you will receive the following 6hp parts, assembled together, ready to install;

•  shaft, uprated with s/s
•  reversing gear pinion
•  forward gear pinion
•  key for reverse pinion
•  key for forward pinion

Every refurbished engine since 2009 i supplied had this upgrade, and every gearbox i worked on it was reccomended and usually fitted too.

dont wait for disaster, prevent it!

Obviously fitting this, you would also order a gasket, seals and probably renew the impello while you are at it
