points WICO

i do not know what the original source was, some say 'villiers' motorcycle, but as they are simply a switch in prnciple any contact set that you can fit and works with it's cam will be ok. alternately you might be able to replace burnt contacts with new ones by cutting off the old ones with dremmel and soldering the new contact on(normally copper base)

alternatley you could get a bad pair of points working better spark using lumenition. do NOT use a 12v car coil or it will burn out these 'magneto' contacts quick (current too high)

unfortunately changing from wico ignition to the later and more popular bosch vire ignition system is complicated:

vire 6 wico engines had differenc front crankcase with supports for wico(2) not supports for bosck backplate(3)

vire 6 wico engines had extended crankshaft and exterior cam to fit the wico flywheel

so, by the time you rebuilt your engine with different crank, crancase, ignition and flywheel/cam, it would have been cheaper to simply buy a warrantied rebuilt vire 6 from me, which i can offer if you ask for a very good price if you are using your original cylinder(rare good part) - that is the way to go if any problems with ignition start on a WICO vire 6.

and if you want it quieter and less fiddly valves, then why not modernise to the vire 7 or if you need 2x power, then the vire 12?
